Born and raised in the Northern California area, Dan Roberts grew up with a family that always had him in church. Many would say, "Every time the doors where open, THEY WERE THERE!"
At the age of ten, during a kid's summer camp Dan accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. In Junior High School he started playing the trumpet. It was apparent that God had blessed Dan with a natural talent and anointing. At the age of sixteen, Dan felt the Lord's calling to music ministry. Being young spiritually, Dan simply acknowledged His call, but had no faith to pursue the calling of ministry.
For several years Dan ran from His calling and began allowing earthly desires to draw him away from the church and His teachings. By the time he was nineteen, Dan had walked completely away from the church, "shelving" his relationship with Christ. After several years of being lost, on the morning of December 7th, 1999 Dan rededicated his life to Christ. Dan since has been serving the Lord with his talents and gifts.
Through the years of growing up in a traditional church, Dan learned to treasure the hymns, and appreciate good ol' four-piece harmony. Dan joined his first group, Reunion Quartet, in the spring of 2004. In March of 2005, Dan felt compelled to form a new quartet and with the support and encouragement of family and friends, 4 His Love Music Ministries officially organized. For the next year and a half, 4 His Love traveled the roads of California ministering to local congregations, care homes, and in other community outreach events.
In August of 2006, Dan and Kimberly moved cross-country, where they currently reside in Peculiar, Missouri. Since their move, Dan has sung for a short stint with a local quartet. In addition, Dan has been a guest soloist/tenor for the Big Creek Country Showplace, located in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Under the direction and leading of the Holy Spirit, Dan and Kimberly have united with the Smith Family to re-organize 4 His Love Music Ministries. 4 His Love's purpose is to be the 'open arms' of Jesus, whose love is boundless. Dan looks forward to being on the road, sharing the story of Jesus Christ.
QUESTIONS ASKED OF DAN:
What have been your greatest privilege and/or accomplishment in music ministry thus far?
As a group we have had the privilege of sharing the stage with such groups as Brian Free & Assurance, Karen Peck & New River, Anchormen Quartet and several others, but nothing compares to when you bear witness to the Holy Spirit moving in a service. I'll never forget the day we were singing in Brookfield, Missouri. An invitation was given and from the back of the church we could a man crying out, " I need to be saved!" That day the Lord used me, and our ministry, to accomplish His work.
What has been your favorite vacation place?
In 2007, Kimberly and I spent ten wonderful days in South Korea. Her parents were missionaries in South Korea for twenty years, so she basically grew up in Korea. What an awesome privilege it was to be with the people and in the country my wife calls "home."
What is your favorite hobby…when you have some free time?
Fishing – there's nothing more relaxing than baiting a hook with a little stink bait and finding a big shade tree to relax under. This is truly my favorite way to relax. But… if you want to see the little boy in me, take me to a drag strip! I LOVE RACING!
What is the one of the sweetest thing you have done for your wife?
Kim had just graduated and took her first fulltime nursing position in the ER. Kim being the perfectionist that she is was very frustrated and began questioning her abilities. To show my love and encouragement I got a card and wrote my wife a love letter, reminding her that I believed in her. Sometimes the little things speak volumes!
